Course Description:

This virtual course provides a practical, interdisciplinary look at temporomandibular disorders (TMD) and their connection to the cervical spine, posture, muscular dysfunction, and referred pain. Participants will review the anatomy and movement mechanics of the temporomandibular joint, recognize common TMD presentations, and gain insight into how physical therapists evaluate and treat these conditions. The course will also introduce benign paroxysmal positional vertigo (BPPV), including its clinical presentation, diagnosis, and treatment from a physical therapy perspective.


Learning Objectives:

  • Understand muscle, joint, and nerve anatomy of the jaw and explain the kinematics of the TMJ.
